Verification
Every diamond is evaluated in our own Pieter Andries Diamond and Gem Laboratory with the most sophisticated and latest instruments and technology.
The Standard
Integrity
The Pieter Andries standard is what sets us apart. When you walk into our showroom or our Diamond Room, you’re getting an experience unlike anything provided at a traditional diamond retailer. Each gemstone is carefully analyzed by our certified gemologists before it reaches a setting, providing you with a selection that is only the best of the best.
Ethics, grading and performance – those are all part of the Pieter Andries difference.
We do not take a third-party grading report at face value. The gemologist's analysis is recorded in the Pieter Andries diamond grading certificate, which accompanies the piece, and every diamond half a carat and above is laser-inscribed with a number matching that record. The certificate travels with the piece; the record stays with the house; and the proof stays on the diamond.
Four Standards a Diamond Must Pass
Earth Mined
We work exclusively in earth-mined diamonds, which are natural in origin and not grown in a laboratory. The distinction is verified at intake by our certified gemologists.
Legal & Ethical Sourcing
Each diamond is sourced individually from our trusted diamond cutters — relationships the house has maintained for years.
Accurate Grading & Confirmation
Every diamond is inspected by our certified gemologists on arrival, under controlled lighting in our own laboratory. Using the Pieter Andries standard, we verify its rarity, color, and clarity. A diamond that does not match our standards will not be accepted into our collection.
Light Performance
Does the diamond smile? A grade on paper does not tell you how a diamond performs on the hand. Every diamond we accept is judged for cut, brilliance, fire, and scintillation — in the light, not on the report.
A Complete Standard, Start to Finish
Our verification standard covers the whole piece, from the diamond’s carat, cut, color and clarity to the metal and setting, the design’s intent, the hands responsible and the final inspection. For the diamond itself, the laboratory’s findings are recorded in the Pieter Andries diamond grading certificate, which is provided with the piece. For diamonds half a carat and above, the inscription on the diamond matches the record the house keeps on file.
